The main issue with Coleman’s loss is depth. Syracuse will go forward using a tight seven player rotation, and that may cause some issues. In Saturday’s 59-54 win over Pitt, Christmas played the second half saddled with foul trouble.

“I don’t usually worry about foul counts down the stretch,” Boeheim said. “We can play with foul trouble.”

I'd love to hear Boeheim expand on this.

-Why does he not worry about it (I certainly do)?
-Does his in-game management/philosophy change significantly in the event of foul trouble or not at all?
-What, if anything, does he say to that player with 3-4 fouls?

i suppose the irony here lies in the fact the JB used to only switch to zone to protect his guys in foul trouble.
if we get in deep foul trouble early now he apparently trusts his players (and not the refs) just to play smarter.

this to me seems a flawed strategy at best.

channelling igor: "JB's strategy has evolved from hoping other teams miss to hoping the refs don't call fouls"

well if you've listened to JB's comments post game that's exactly what he said.

10 fouls is still quite a bit for a game. Even if we need to put Jerami at the 5 it wouldn't be for that long and he is athletic enough to handle it in very small doses. If BMK or Rak go down, then we have a real issue.

Reading the comments from the players they feel real bad for dc2, but not one comment I read mentioned the impact of it being a huge loss on the court for them. I think people on here are more concerned than the players and coaching staff are over this loss which I don't believe is that huge (unless we lose Rak or BMK at some point.).

I know, I was just anticipating how it would animate igor for the next decade if he had hear it

This is a massive blow to us winning the SEC. Coleman was our best point guard and he had scored 30 points in every game this season. He was projected to be #1 in the NFL Draft! We are screwed.

so true if true- the real fact of the matter is the jamaicans called jimmy b (a sponsor) and said they wanted him for the bobsled team - so they faked this injury as cover -keep this between us i dont want to start anything

hey i totally get it. but just listening to jb this very week he fully expects our players to play well with 4 fouls.
now seems common sense and conventional wisdom would somewhat preclude this at the 10+ minute mark.

Chalk it up to this:

Boeheim says things.

The problem is geting Grant and Fair rests not Rak and Keita at center. If he could give us 5-10 minutes every game still, it would have been good. But, his biggest use would be for games where he can take advantage pushing around a undersized center or against a physical team like pitt, more then foul trouble.

If anything, this opens things up for Roberson at forward and gives him more pressure to perform. He was in the same seat as Buss and BJ not anymore.

1.We played the last 4-5 games without Dajuan nobody said anything. We won just as easy.
2.Dajuans stats were 13 minutes 4 points and 4 rebounds(which is really good). But, the majority of those minutes were against cupcakes. He averaged probably 6-7 mpg against good competition. 2-3 games he was the better option at center.
