I am not against self imposed bans -- just the fact that they become effective immediately.   Too easy for manipulation -- whether the Syracuse ban was strategic or not last year, many viewed it as fishy.   Certainly Missouri should not get any leniency because they did not allow the 190th best team in the country to make a miracle run to get into the NCAA tourney.   Now Louisville -- they took a real hit.    Should they all be treated the same?  It just becomes another factor to judge for the NCAA when they are already poor at making judgments.

BTW, I don't disagree that the decisions made by the NCAA are questionable at times, but I view that as a separate issue.     But let's at least have a framework for when they become effective that is more fair to kids.
