It has often been said that Marquette's coach, Buzz Williams is a Curly Howard look-a-like. In this article by Bud Poliquin it is mentioned. I must admit BP's article is pretty funny, amusing and revealing as to how the Syracuse staff got the guys fired up for the contest. It smacks of the doing's of Mike Hopkins if you ask me.
From Bud's story, "Jardine, Syracuse University’s senior guard, was talking about Williams’ wacky jig immediately following the Golden Eagles’ upset of the Orange in that NCAA Tournament affair out there in Cleveland. And he’d taken offense . . . and not just because Williams, though light on his feet for a lug, had danced like Chazz Bono. "We wanted," Scoop declared, "to beat them by 50." Was that dance similar to this one?
On another note, I ran into Brandon Triche's dad Melvin at halftime. I told him to tell Brandon to keep on firing away. He said, I wish his hand would heal, he is having so much trouble handling the ball.
Also ran into former SU football player Jared Kimmel, he's a big kid. It's a shame he had so many injuries while at SU. He said he is doing fine and that thanks to the help from his girlfriend, a former SU dance team member, he got his degree.
