DART vs. “Orange Standard”

I’ve been thinking a lot about these phrases/mottos lately. In my mind, there is a huge difference between the two.

DART requires actions. Same with Fran’s CCT (Are you committed?, Do you care?, Can I trust you?)

“Orange Standard” is a nebulous term that, as far as we know, means nothing specific. It has way more in common with Dino’s “belief without evidence” bit. I have no clue what it means.

This is a pretty connected group of fans here. Does anyone on this board know what specifically a player needs to do to meet the “Orange Standard”?

Tbh I think all of it is pretty much nonsense. Just fun buzzwords that people can latch onto and use for headlines or marketing.

Coach speak. None of that matters.

We lose games and look like an AAU team doing it. Analysis should stop there.

part of this standard not being reinforced. someone showed me kyle cuffes “private story” on snapchat after the game.

himself, Kiyan, Chance, Donnie, among others were in the middle of a club being serenaded by bottle girls holding signs that say “cuse bball” and other things.

probably should not be at the club with our recruit after a loss celebrating the team. and if you are , hide in the back and talk to a girl don’t be in the middle with 100 people recording you.

Ah, no, this makes sense. When writing the standard, they botched the meaning of "take quality shots."

Seems like it started with the ”Dynasty” thing. That, too, was a lot of street bluster without having accomplished anything.

This. Reds sucks because his team sucks. Fran's is good because he brought us McCord. It's all marketing gibberish.

Let's see what Dart looks like with a sub par qb and a bad defense? I hope it still looks good, of course. But a lot went right this year. We made that mistake in 2018. We need to see more. The rest is just conversation.

This difference is Fran got the right pieces. Red has the land of missing toys that he assembled.

I cannot think of any pro or college teams that are doing well with a subpar QB and a bad defense. You can get by with one of them. We did just that this past season, credit to Fran. If Red could demonstrate any coaching we could potentially get by with a functioning offense (attack opponent's weaknesses, run sets to free up specific players) or a defense that can defend a simple ball screen or help on the weak side.

Fran has demonstrated a vision that is working at the moment and holds guys accountable. Red is down to "we need to make shots". I'm surprised you're so pessimistic about football.

I am certainly more pessimistic that the majority of the board. Everything went right this year. With a great college qb. They mask other problems. I will feel a lot better if we can win 7 games next year. Now, don't get me wrong. I loved this football season as much as anyone. And I am hating this basketball season as much as anyone. I just need to see more from football before I think all of our problems are over. Even in the short term. I hope they are.

Agreed.. but, unless defense improves whether McCord comes back or not they will be fighting to finish 500.
