I find it very interesting that during the first Duke/Syracuse game the following were the counts for free-throw attempts:
Duke: 17
Syracuse: 32
During the second Duke/Syracuse game, the following counts:
Duke: 25
Syracuse: 14
It's not the bad calls that cause you to lose a game. It's all the referee's NON-calls that kill you. I wonder if someone did an analysis of the data to determine what the home court advantage is for each team as determined by the ratio of the number of free-throw attempts for the visiting team versus home team. There's probably a lot games where the ratio is about even. But for big home games I bet there's something there.
