So, David Hale was on the First Team this morning. I tuned in as they were finishing up praise for the Clemson QB's. David was asked what other QB's in the league to keep an eye out for. He immediately brought up Dungey. Called him the most elusive QB in the league and, when healthy, based on his previous play is able to frustrate other teams. Said, anyone who watched Cuse last year knew they were a tough out when Dungey played. Can move the ball down the field and scramble when needed. More interestingly, be stated that Tommy Devito is one of the best backups in the ACC. hmmm... Lastly, while he did say that Cuse has a lot of holes in other areas, QB is not one of them.

Loved it and got me pumped for the beginning of the season.

Sweet post. Thanks!

I randomly subjected myself to the ACC replay of the Cuse-FSU game from last season. You could have driven a truck through the gap between Dungey and Mahoney.
I loved the Sheriff, and his gutty, overachieving performances. For the life of me however, I have no clue what people were seeing, when they suggested that the Sheriff should play over Dungey.

I agree but I still think Dino should have played Mahoney in the Middle Tenn game after it was obvious that Shafer got in their heads. Mahoney had to have wanted to prove he deserved a scholie from Shafer.

I was there...that was the most frustrating game last year after MTSU. Dungey played on a broken foot most of the game and we still almost sent it to overtime. We started out kinda "deer in the headlights look" but got rolling and then he got hurt on the tail end of a positive play. We still stayed close all game...a healthy Dungey and we win by 10 pts.

Zach was gritty and far exceeded his initial supposed ceiling but he wasn't a starter for a reason. I'd loved to see him play at a school like Colgate. Looking back I still think Babers made the right call to keep TD's Redshirt.

That is an apt comparison. I think Mahoney would be perfectly at home starting at Colgate or even Villanova, Youngstown State, or JMU. He might even have been a good starter at a place like Ohio or Miami (OH).
