Cisco and Szmyt not first team...? Alrighty then

Hale goes into detail about Cisco. He thinks he's very poor in coverage and the numbers don't completely disagree with him. I think national media sees interceptions and assumes he's elite, but not always the case. Just bulletin board material for Cisco to use

I agree with him. His coverage was not good last year. He's a ball hawk for sure but there is room to grow there.

Whats interesting about that is that Cisco is universally a Pre-Season First Team All-American and those other ACC Safeties aren't even mentioned in those lists. I understand Cisco's limitations up to this point but this list is an outlier in this regard.

Wow he is super high on sPitt.

Can't wait to smash the piss out of them and Pickett.

Puck Fitt.
I don't remember anyone picking Pitt ahead of ND. That is really surprising. He is way more excited about NC State and BC than most of the other experts as well.

Wow he's bullish on Pitt. That defense is going to be pretty good; we'll see week 2.

Agreed, I think we finish higher than Nc State, BC and Wake. Everyone else ahead of us is fair. Nc State and BC were expected to take big steps back this year. Wake lost a lot as well, some unexpected so I think it’s fair to think they will take a big step back as well.

I was frankly quite surprised Ciso was a pre-season All-American. Sure, he's a ballhawk, but I thought the safeties were pretty bad (as was most of the D) last year. In my mind there are serious questions about Monroe's on-field coaching, despite him killing it on the recruiting trail.

Again to defend Hale he's done lots of good research on Cisco vs the national writers. He has good reasoning. Honestly if Cisco improves his coverage and gives up less big plays he can be a first-rounder. It's a glaring area for him.

Pitt lost way to much on D with Twyman sitting out and Butler-Jenkins hurt, add in knucklehead Narduzzi they won't finish 2nd...

I think VT, NC State, BC, Cuse, and Wake can finish in any order in that middle group. Miami and FSU have more talent but could also not finish better than those teams.
