The problem I have with the current style of the race is that it's about drafting that the cars just seem to be parading around the track in formation for most of the race. Nobody wants to be out alone, even if it's ahead of the back because you are taking on the air alone. Nobody wants to do that so they find a partner and then another and another until the whole race looks like the pace lap. In the old days, it was pedal to the medal.
