With Arnett coming in as the DC/LB coach, we have a single opening on the spot. I'm not sure who's out there, but I really think in this case that we NEED to bring in a plus recruiter for this position.

Find a guy that's another Monroe, I don't care how good of a positional coach he is.

Definitely agree. We need to improve the recruiting talent of the staff. It'll be interesting to see what happens after the coaches convention. We could end up losing more assistants. Who knows.

Any recruits we are still going after who might be attracted to the 3-3-5?

Could there be another unannounced opening on the staff?

Can Arnett recruit? Do we know? I imagine his name and age alone help.

Theres always a chance some guys decide to move on their own. Like I said, post coaches convention we'll learn more about what the final staff will look like for next season.

While we most definitely need a top flight recruiter I also think having someone knowledge of the new defensive scheme would be high on the wishlist as well. The defensive coaches need to learn the system to teach it to the players. It would be very desirable to have more than just Arnett up to speed on the scheme.

Stanard's twitter header, fwiw, says he is the coach of the Defensive Ends.

Do we know if he ever changed it? That was his job before Ward left. Also, I don't anticipate Stanard leaving anyway.

Can't imagine he has too many contacts on this side of the country.

We should hire this guy and pay him $250k to show that we are a real player.

Agreed

I assume he'll be our California/Arizona JUCO recruiter and any CA/AZ HS kid with an interest with SU

I won’t lie that NJ coach gives me bad vibes. What happened to pop warner and stuff being for fun?

One very important lesson he could teach kids is humility. I don’t think that’s in his wheelhouse.
As much as I hate how he behaves when he wins, I think that attitude is an edge that they feed off of to play harder and builds that confidence and swagger in the kids.

They feed off that
