The way DC played in the first 3 min of the second half was the best basketball of his career. Three strong moves and buckets, a couple great defensive stops and rebounds and one beautiful pass from the top of the key. He was Olajuwon for a brief period. I would sell my soul for him to play like that from here on out.

He was awesome! I also would sell your soul for that kind of play out of him

I honestly believe it was that burst by DC, relatively brief as it was, that was the key to the game. We probably would have won without it, but it just turned the entire game around and ignited the whole team. Absolutely loved it.

and it made me laugh even harder at some of the crap being spewed about Coleman in the game thread - some SU "fans" are really something

Not to change the topic, but speaking of the best basketball of someone's career . . . I believe that was by far the best game Lyden has ever played.

All year he has been a shooter. In this game he was scoring off the dribble and in the post. The kind of play we got from him today is the kind of play that will make him an all american. Those nine games off seem to have been put to very good use, and might mark a turning point in his career. Definitely something to keep an eye on.

I admit that I compared him to Andrew Kouwe in the first half -- probably an overreaction.

he definitely had a couple frustrating plays in the 1st half, but he really has gradually come on in the past month - still bouts of inconsistency and missed bunnies (argh!) but he's coming

if he doesnt make 4-5 bad plays the first half the game is over at the half.. he plays so soft with the ball and doesnt box out and then he comes out and plays 5 min of great ball.

Little did you know that you were granted one wish. That was it.

Spewing crap about a hardworking homegrown kid is a time-honored board tradition.

It seemed he was being stripped and kicked around a bit and then he found his mojo. When he his his three in the beginning right after Malachi, G and Cooney made theirs, I knew this was going to be a great offensive game for us. <HAPPY SIGH>

He played well today...still won't shoot when open but some of those games in the Bahamas were outta control. I sat in front of the Charlotte scout down there who said he had the most potential on the court. Obviously since he hasn't been as good but hopefully he start turning it on again.

In the Bahama's all Lyden did was shoot, and a lot of times he was left open because he was a freshman center that teams hadn't/couldn't scout yet.

The days of him getting tons of times to set up and shoot are over, opposing teams are on to him. He is going to need to drive to the basket and finish around the rim to be a great player. He always seemed to have the skills to do that, but never showed it. Today was the first time he did. To me that marks a landmark for him. If he can hit open shots he's a role player. If he can hit an open shot, and also take big guys off the dribble, and also post up smaller guys then he's a star.

I don't totally disagree that he needs to take ppl of the dribble but he has been open plenty. He won't shoot the ball. There were a few times today he did the same. In the Bahamas there was no hesitation and played amazing. Also, Florida state played ZERO defense.

DC played so weak in the first half, he either realized it himself or was told he was getting pushed around by a lightweight, and came out tough. He needs to go into every game thinking "I am McDonalds All American Dajuan Coleman, try to stop me." when he plays strong and tough, he needs to be accounted for.

if espn cared about anyone besides Kentucky, duke, UNC, and Kansas, this kid should be the embodiment of everything right with college sports. he shows these flashes of the 5-star he was supposed to be and omg he could have been so good. but the best-news part out of a bad situation is that it isn't over for him yet.

Love seeing DC get props.

Amazing how hard this kid has worked to get onto the court. And the physical ailments he's had to overcome. Amazing. He'll never live up to the McD's hype, but he can still have a major contribution to our program this year and next. Plus, it is easy to pull for a local kid who is a hard worker. Glad to see DC proving his numerous detractors wrong.

Best offensive game, perhaps. And Lydon did a good job taking advantage of the extra attention paid to Roberson on the glass.

Loved the touch pass on the break, too.

Watching him all I could think of is how much more fun is ahead watching Tyler Lydon develop with 15- 20 more strategically placed pounds on his frame. Was watching him in warm ups - great catch and shoot mechanics with a quick release and excellent accuracy.

No question that was the best 3-4 min stretch of his entire career. Was hoping JB would just leave him out there even when the 3rd foul inevitably came and let him continue to build that confidence.

Could the beginning of the second half be DC's best 2.5 minutes ever at SU? 6 points (including a nice drive down the lane), a couple of rebounds and a nice assist. Can't remember him ever being so active AND ending well. That was the DCII that many were predicting when he signed his LOI. Realistically, I don't expect that a lot but even a few flashes of it will mean the other team has to play him tight.
