Notre Dame has lost a key member of its 2024 recruiting class with Princeton (N.J.) The Hun School defensive tackle
Owen Wafle announcing his decision to leave the class.
Wafle was Notre Dame's first commit in the 2024 class and he had been in the Irish class for over a year. The 6-3, 290-pound defensive tackle committed to Notre Dame on May 16th of 2022.
The loss leaves a hole in the middle of the defensive line with the Notre Dame class, but according to sources
this wasn't necessarily a decision made by Wafle alone. This appears to be a situation where Notre Dame also had other priorities, and there was no longer room left in the class for the talented defensive tackle.
