DE Prospects for 2013

Now that EO has effectively dropped off the immediate radar, where do we stand as far as filling a huge need at DE for the 2013 class. There are plenty of offers out there. Here is a short list I have compiled of recruited players at this position that have offers extended:

Malik Brown
Ramar Dennis
Dajuan Drennon
Kevin Robbins
John Stepec
Mark Wilson
Mike Tyler
Antonio Geurad

Not the high profile level athlete of EO, but still a position we need filled and maybe with more than 1 recruit in this years class. There are others as well, but was wondering where we stood with any of these prospects and the general mood of the coaching staff now that EO has made it clear he isn't deciding anytime soon. Ofcourse there are potential PSU transfers that could fill an immediate void, but I am not sure about DE possibilities there either. I do hope we don't wait and hope on EO without doing something at this position.

Pretty sure both players have stated they aren't deciding until after their senior seasons. EO decides in December. Not too worried.

That would be nice! You would think with meeting Freeny and Brown on the same day would settle in with EO, knowing we just got a DE in with a 1st round pick as well at DE. Go figure, I don't think EO will end up here unfortunatly, hope I'm wrong, but I felt better about Ishaq, and that didn't turn out to well.

Do we not have enough room for 2 at DE, especially since we are so thin at this position. Also, I just read were the staff reported we had plenty of room on our roster for PSU transfers even without the waiver the NCAA put into the sanctions. Confused with that one, everyone keeps saying what a small class this is going to be, but we have room on the roster for transfers?

Definitely 3 and I thought that he was applying for a waiver to be eligible to play immediately and/or gain a 4th year by avoiding the transfer penalty. He did RS his first year at Iowa.

He can't ... he is enrolling in Jan .. can't see him dragging it out any further.

These types of gambles always worry me a bit, waiting for the #1 when all the other choices start selecting other schools and we end up with our 5th choice or worse.

We have Marcus Coleman and Brewster coming in next year not to forget Simmons and Washington unless you see either or both going to LBer which I could easily understand.

Here's my theory: EO is a solid silent verbal but he wants to use his officials so he visit other regions of the country. This has all been discussed and cleared with the SU staff. Meanwhile, his completed paperwork is sitting in a hermetically sealed envelop locked-up in an Admissions Department safe until December.
