Your equivocating saying some mean or unthoughtful things to death threats? Why are you being an apologist for Penn State? Do you really feel like Syracuse is of their ilk?
Stupidity isn't limited to any one fan base.
I've never threatened another person. I can't think of anything i've said on social media that I would not defend.
That may be you but there are plenty of people on social media that because of anonymity say stupid, hateful, and evil things to young kids.
I hate PSU as much as anyone. I thought their Gov should have shut them down. (Not realistic, I know.) But I also know that there are a lot of dumb people out there on social media who will say stupid s#|+ just because. I see it every day.
Young kids who are playing at the highest level of college sports and who have the aspiration of mining gold at the professional level are subject to harsher criticism than regular student athletes, it goes with the territory.

"Harsh{er} criticism" does not include death threats. Anywhere.
That was my point. Criticizing their play or questioning their motives is part of the territory. People who make public death threats need to be talked to by law enforcement.
Of course, that's what happens at a debased place like "Happy Valley".
Death threats are not part of any territory. Hope they find the person and let them spend some time in solitary confinement.
Anyone who doesn't understand that is over the line is a sociopath.
