As the defense labored under humiliating conditions, the offense found itself having to compensate by taking risks which it normally would not have taken and when you witness your teammates being thrashed by the opposition and the panicked demeanor of the coaching staff, your performance is going to suffer as well. I'm hoping that somehow that through some honest self appraisal by the coaching staff that they can make some changes and find out how a game plan from a strategic perspective which was so horribly ineffective could have been implemented. They may not have been destined to win yesterday but I have a hard time believing that the game should have ended up being a point a minute to nothing. And finally, how much of a commitment is the University really going to make to restore the program to top 25 playing level? Allowing an outcome like Saturday is a step back in the wrong direction for Syracuse Football. [/QUOTE]
