Anyone else get the feeling that our secondary is going to take a huge step forward this year?

Lyn. Reddish [who was outstanding in the spring]. Shamarko.

Experienced players like Anderson and Wilkes. The athletic prowess of Eskridge. Unproven but promising Desir and Mungwa.

This group will give us the top group of CBs, 1-4, we've had in years.

If our DTs can hold up at the point of attack better than last year against the run [I'm confident they will] and the DEs can generate some pass rush [remains to be seen], I think the secondary is going to explode this year and be very tough to pass on. Best of all, the majority of these players return next year, giving us year-over-year continuity to build upon.

Discuss.

I'm bullish on the defensive backfield. A lot of questions as to how they will actually perform on the field but I think there is more potential there than any position.

Deepest and most talented group by far. I like Desir a lot but he might not be able to crack the lineup.

Well if these guys can play lights out this year we'll finally have game scores that we've been dying for. 10 - 7, 9 - 6, and the occasional 17 - 10. Can't wait :D

With all the roster/media guide coverage, I think Rahme would have noticed.
I would agree with that. I know at one point he was contemplating leaving. It seems he hasn't.

The player everyone seems to forget about is Dontez Ford. I feel he will redshirt this year but next year I expect him to push for a spot. He has overachieved throughout his career. Great character kid, great frame and work ethic. I was told by someone that knows h.s football in his area that he was gonna be better than Rippy. That being said, I am excited about whigham and lights out too. Secondary will be strong the next 5 years.

Do we have enough CB's? I see a lot of safeties but not many cover corners. I could be wrong.

Lyn, Reddish, Anderson are CBs. If Wilkes, Eskridge, and Desir can play there as well, we'll be solid.

Not sure if Whigham plays or redshirts, but i'm excited about his potential, too.

I've seen Anderson, Wilkes, and Eskridge all listed as safeties as well, so there might be some cross functional versatility.

Edit: I forgot to list Morgan! Future looks bright!

good point, whigham will start off at corner, reddish, i think w morgan will start off as CB/nickle, dont sleep on j george he is a hard worker. This list is refering to 2 or 3 years down the line
