Just got off the phone with my cousin who lives in Tallahassee and is a huge FSU fan. He has actually predicted before the game that Cuse would win. He is totally depressed by the state of their program. How a bunch of 5 star talents could be so manhandled was unreal. he told me their offensive line stunk, and, in fact, they were a turnstyle. Hard to believe they are that bad, i would prefer to credit our guys for tremendous effort, great motors, and intensity. Their QB is a good athlete with a solid arm, but has no elusiveness when the rush comes. This was my first look at this year's Cuse team. Truthfully, I thought we should have lead by 20 in the first half. That dropped pass on what should have been a TD and ridiculously conservative play calling, and a missed FG added up to only 6. No Dungey in the second half and I was expecting the game to turn in their favor. But credit DiVito for not only stepping up, but for actually playing much better than Dungey did in the first half, credit the D for relentless pressure, credit the running backs for turning it up as their D tired, credit the Coach for opening up the O, and voila a huge victory. We were one play from pitching a shutout. Can't say the pass interference play was a bad call, but it was close. To bad it went their way. They haven't been shutout in over ten years. Would have been nice for us to have gotten it done. Anyways, i am thrilled with what i saw. Hopefully a couple of more W's and they will show more Cuse games out here in NM. Looking forward, we may well now have a QB controversy. If Dungey has to miss a game or two and DiVito continues to play this well, he may very well steal the job. Our D looked so good - how did we give up 42 to West Mich ????? In the Babers era, we always seem to have one or two great games a season, but lack consistency. I love dino, his style, and what he has done so far, but there just can't be any more excuse for inconsistent performances. With the start we are having to this season, a bowl appearance is now a mandatory goal.
