The numbers below speak to this issue.  As you can see the total offensive yards and yards per play are average and although improvement is wanted they aren't hurting us to much to this point.  However, the RZ numbers are shockingly abysmal and shows an inept offense when we get inside the 20.  (All numbers are based upon FBS competition (6 games for Syracuse)
 
Total Offense - 420.2 yards per game (Rank 52)
 
Yards per play - 5.94 yards (Rank 46)
 
Scoring - 21.8 points per game (Rank 101)

124 out of 128!  That's a huge problem and in the last two games, despite the changes, we have actually gotten worse with just 1 out of 8 TD conversions inside the RZ (12.5%). 
 
While I am encouraged by what I've seen on the field the last few weeks the numbers are showing the same team as prior to the change in OC/QB.  We move the ball and can't score TD's.  That's the Syracuse identity to this point no matter the coordinator/QB.  So my expectations are still very cautious due to this issue.  I wanna be more optimistic that this issue will resolve itself but need a breakout game where its not so glaring and obvious.
 
Does anyone with better strategic analysis/understanding of the on the field gameplay have thoughts regarding why this is such a huge issue?  Its driving me nuts trying to figure out the complete disaster of our RZ offense and how we can turn the tide.  Thanks in advance for thoughts.
