I don't see why you have to play in 75% of your games to be the best paper eater.

Have you looked at conference numbers for Dungey over his career? I'm not trying to dogpile on Dungey. It's more that I am curious, too lazy to look for myself, and my guess is that those numbers will not be great.

well he has played meaningful minutes in 3 games.. WMU got all sort of pressure and he looked avg. FSU got occasional pressure and he looked fine.. NC st Im not sure even blizted and go no pressure and he looked great accept for the one disguised coverage he threw the INT on..

if you knew he was the QB you would be working some pressure stuff up to rattle him.. but if you spend all that time and Dungey comes out and hits you with RPO you are gonna be in trouble. Now if you mix it up with who is playing QB Nc st has to not only practice more but also jump into different Ds much quicker.

and you cant only go by who is more productive since play calls and penalties can dig a hole for one they other doesnt have to overcome. same thing as the D can blow a coverage. But if you think throwing deep is the game plan and you can protect the QB than one guy is obvious. If you think the power QB run stuff like WMU is the right game plan that the other is.

I think once we get inside the 10 though, where we run more than not, Dungey gets more snaps even if he doesnt lead us down the field.

I wonder how much the ED injury is really messing with timing and the deep ball. he has the occasional great throw but has missed so many. if he is dinged, is he not throwing as much of those in practice and maybe thats why he is a bit off too.

As much as I'm enjoying this thread.. I'm not sure Devito has played the equivalent of 1 game. I think he'll continue, but I'm looking forward to the bigger sample size. ;-).
