that at the 9:11 mark in the second half we had our entire second unit in all at the same time. They looked really really good and looked very comfortable playing together.

Not a large (if any at all) drop off in talent of this unit versus our starters. If they played our starters ten times they would probably win 4 or 5 times. In all my years I've never seen this much depth, and quality depth at that.

I am also very encouraged by Dion's newfound dedication to defense. And wow, our "10th" man JS played great last night as well. Played like a starter in every aspect of the game.

...things of note:
...JB pointed out in presser Dion defense better than last year
...any given day, better player that day gets time
...why not go to two squads if nearly equal in talent...keeps everyone fresh
...JB also pointed out in presser...may/may not use 10 depending on game conditions and score...he will not play 10 to play 10...on otherside, hope he doesnt hook someone for one bad play...we already showing lack of flow...half court offense is one-one...if that is what we play than Dion gets a lot of playing time...may be good or not...I prefer a team concept but didnt see that in # of assists against Fordham...it was a one-one game.

If a defense dictates a "one-one" game as it's been called, then that's what you do. Normally a high assist number in a game is a good thing. But, as we know, stats can lie. If a team focuses on passing lanes by design and really takes it away, then your best one-on-one players can take the game over. Don't get wrapped up in certain stats every game.

Arbitragegls, based on what I've seen of our half court sets or lack thereof, I agree with you that if Dion continues to play this type of
defense he will see a lot of playing time since he is our only real threat to break a defense down and get penetration with his one on one skills. If he continues to play tough defense and play unselfishly like he did last night he could also be the go-to guy we are looking for. I am not ready to annoint him as that yet. We need to see consistency. But his defense was very, very encouraging.

PS - before anyone jumps on me, I am not advocating a one on one style of play at least not all the time. I would really like to see us run more sets for Fab to see what he can do. Might want to see what CJ can do
as well. I have a feeling Fab might have the skills to pass out of a double team which would be great for us.
