You are correct... The interactive seating map is no longer available for the dome. In fact if you try to order tickets, it doesn't give you the actual seat numbers or row you are in... Ridiculous... Going backwards instead of forward..

The venue has the option of whether to turn the interactive seating maps (where you get to pick your own seat) off or on. All venues turn it off when tickets first go on sale as they do not want to slow down the buying process by allowing people to flip around from section to section taking their time. Most usually turn it back on once high demand periods are over...unless they don't want people to see how many empty seats are available...

Could have something to do with giving out the free tix to kids, if they have any plans to accomodate people holding tickets already who want to bring some more kids along.

I only recall seeing that for hoops tickets. Was it available for football tickets last year as well?
