Well...I learned a lot less than I had hoped, but learned some things that I thought were the case. 1) Damien Alford - glad to see he got some run, was beautiful on the long pass play. I hope we see more of him and he doesn't get shelved once Taj is healthy. I think he brings a lot more to the table than some of our other options. He can run too. Hope we see him as WR #3 going forward. 2) TE's - Well, happy to see we can actually pass to them. Sucks that Benson got hurt so early because he's more experienced than Mang and I think we may have seen a little more activity there. Honestly, if we want to use the TE's more and breakdown of protection/mobility is an issue, that probably bleeds more towards Shrader. 3) Defense - looked strong and competent again. So happy to see that one unit is consistent good. After last season, I don't need great, just consistently good. 4) Specials - this is one weird unit. Last week the kicking game was a mess, this week Trebor Pena had an out of body experience because I'm not sure who that was on the field. Our coverage team has been consistently good for the most part (I missed the 4th quarter so not sure if they had issues then). We have the pieces to have an overall strong unit but consistency is lacking. 5) Sean Tucker - guy is legit and best running back we've had in some time. I'm curious to see how he does against the ACC Defenses and how our line holds up against them as well, but man he is fun to watch so far. 6) QB's - Well, didn't really tell me anything other than Tommy throws a beautiful deep ball when he has time and Shrader is mobile and fairly effective in the short game. It's weird if we could combine our 2 QB's strengths and eliminate both their weaknesses we'd have 1 damn good QB. But yeah unfortunately I think the platoon continues into Liberty. 7) We're sloppy. It's a problem. It's not a one game thing. And the penalties are across all the units, even the defense at times. I don't get it. And unfortunately I feel like it's going to continue.
