But I do know Devito just isn’t the QB people thought he would be.  As Otto I think mentioned, he’s improved moving around etc but that’s against mostly weak competition.  He hasn’t proven to be able to do that against ACC opponents.  Now, part of that could be the offensive play calling has changed a little to not let him sit in the pocket so long.

But what I see that Shrader does that’s many have noticed Devito doesn’t, is you can see him scanning the field even when he’s under pressure.  He’s consistently looking for the open receiver.  I know we’ve been told that the play calling doesn’t allow Devito to do this LOL but it’s obvious it’s possible in the offense for a QB to scan the field during a play.  I think at this point he’s not in a rhythm yet, we have to remember he’s barely played in his CFB career.  He didn’t play at all last year.  He did play as a freshman fairly well against SEC opponents and then find ACC competition too much for him LOL.  On the flip side, I’m not positive if he is just rusty and trying to do too much to impress, just needs to settle in. Not really sure what we have with him.
