something to the effect of "you just don't know how they will play till you get to a game situation."

I think that just about sums up our QB situation. It's also telling in the fact that this QB race was about even and the staff figured Drew being the big armed gunslinger from a top tier program, he's going to show us something come game time. He didn't, Hunt has shown he can do better, and everyone moves on.

I think that is true with most positions, but especially a position that A) is high profile, B) is one of the 3 positions that really doesn't get hit in practice like they will in game (Punter and Kicker on kicks are the others) and C) is a competition between 2 highly rated guys who really haven't played at this level.

Wagner might not be able to beat this program's recruits this year while they are still HS seniors, but the contrast in a game situation was enough to give Hunt the start and allow Allen to sit and learn. Hey, we may need him too down the road.
