This morning, I received an email from a prof at Pitt requesting a recommendation letter for a friend of mine that had applied for a summer teaching position at their field station. I was VERY tempted to throw in a line about the game last night but decided that it would not help my friend very much. It would have been fun, however.

Your recommendation should mention that your friend would fit in well at a Pitt field station because he clutches tall grasses, pushes big turtles around, grabs mosquitos, and punches endangered species when the regulatory authorities aren't looking. Of course, even when they ARE looking, nobody ever seems to punish him for it. He'd be a natural to work at Pitt

Older gent at work is a Pitt fan. He's hurting pretty bad about this season so I took the high road as well.
