The local media/syracuse.com are not especially tough on this program at all. Occasionally someone will write a piece that is a over the line, like steaming pile of dung that Nate Mink produced glorifying the CMU kid Stanitzek for nearly decapitating Dungey. He deserved to be called out for that and he was.

But if you think Babers is going to move on to a bigger job and the local press corps is not going to be MORE aggressive (and the fans more demanding btw),  you're kidding yourselves.

These guys are pretty tame. It's also the best corps of journalists to cover the program since the Maloney years. For those of who who would prefer Arnie Burdick...well, that ship sailed a long time ago. It went out with cheering in the press box.

Even in this latest tempest in a teacup, the aforementioned Mr Mink went into the comments section and essentially launched a defense of Babers yesterday, trying to put into context what Dino had meant.
