Love him, and want him to be our coach until he decides to hang them up, but that question on using timeouts wasn't well answered. They had 1st and goal at the 5 with over a minute left. There was literally no way for them to run the clock down to 1 second, we had 3 timeouts. Oh well.

Guys we are still learning how to win...that includes the coaches to some degree doesn’t it? Did he miss on the timeouts? (shrugging). I don’t know. hard to say whay would have been right. I mean we are not on any coaching staffs, so easy to arm chair it i guess. At this point on to the next and get the dub with Pitt.

We get it you don’t like what Dino did today.
Without him we would still be in stone ages of football.
Dino had a good game plan today.
Clemson’s psycho DC made some great calls 2nd half and we got passive in the 4th.
We got beat my a team that has a legit NFL line.
WE DID NOT LOSE BECUASE OF DINO.

Upsides:

1. Give the defense a breather (as you mentioned, as did Blackledge)
2. Time left for the offense if they kick a FG or score a TD
3. If you stop them, Clemson only has 2 TO's left so you can still run out the clock

We basically gave up 30 seconds. Would it have mattered? Perhaps not, but again, what downside am I missing? Hope we learned from it. Might come up again.

i would have called them but i also see why not.. say we use them and then get the ball with 50 secs left then they use them against us and we punt to the 50 and they have 30-40 to score again. best case was they go for it on 4th and use all the time and we stop them..

They had used one on offense, so they had 2 left. If we get the ball with 50 seconds left and they have 2 timeouts, can we not end the game right there?

I wondered if he was going to let them score and keep the timeouts.

I thought of trying that too.. had little faith after we failed on the 4th down play that we would stop them, had we been only up 1 he might have tried it
