Dion had a great rebound in the lane high above the crowd of big men. It was impressive until he dribbled up ignored a wide open Cooney who had just made a 3 and instead plowed into three defenders standing in the lane. His jump shot looked horific. One went in and out the others were not even close. He made one great drive and dish for an easy lay up. Forget who it was to. He made an incredable and one that didn't count. He is a great and entertaining dunker in the open floor. He has a great handle, but guys play him to drive. Triche made some nice plays and some bad ones with the ball in his hands. He jumped as high as I have ever seen him do but as usual failed to but away that huge dunk. He got to the right places and took the shots he should be taking. He missed all his shots. He made a horrible decision on the break. Then he busted his but and made a great steel and lay in. He played very good defense. He rebounded extremely well. He was more agressive than last season. The bottom line for both of these guys is that they are in "show me" territory. Dion has all the physical tallent and a great handle but what will he do wiith it and can he make enough jumpers to even be defended outside. His percentage as a shooter was poor last season and if you consider that no one even attempted to guard him out beyond the 3 point line that 3pt % becomes even more alarming. Triche playes good defense, knows our system and what he is suppossed to be doing out there. He seems to be a good shooter and well rounded player offensively. He's shown glimpses while being streaky and inconsistent. Can he be an agressive player and make his shot consistantly? Can he drive with a perpose and make good decisions. I guess we will see on both guys. Its not Triche against Waiters as much as its taht we need a guard to emerge as a consistant scorring threat to play next to Scoop. We NEED that. I'll take it from either kid or both if we are lucky enough.
