Yeah, he should have not pushed the qb out of bounds.

The linesman had no call. The Ref 20 yards away wanted the Big 10 to pull it out. Just like the Hold they had pinned on us when it was on them...as if the call violated some "we shan't call Holding on the Visitors today" pre-ordained rule

I said it the chat room...the QB sold it with a serious acting job. He took a dive that Primo Carnera would have been proud of.

the refs blew the call. The PF on Spruill was also pretty chintzy.

Spruill had no business even touching the QB in that instance. Lyn at least was hitting the ball-carrier (while he was in-bounds, no less). I had less problem with the call on Spruill than on Lyn.

I'm still 50/50 on the call. Watched it a dozen times this AM, including slow mo. That still shot doesn't tell the whole story either. He's got his hands on him (maybe, can't tell from that angle) but he got called when he extended his arms and pushed him when he was clearly out. Tough call either way.

It was a Horsesh!t call but Keon has to (a) be smart enough to let up considering that the QB is basically giving himself up and there's no way he can cut up the field and (b) realize that referees are human and often times make horrendous calls. That was one of those moments.

I try not to focus on one play being the deciding factor because this game was chalk full of them. Hopefully Lyn, Jerome Smith, etc learn from the mistakes and we move on. The tools are there to win a bunch of games this year (after USC stomps us of course).

from that still picture if lyn's hands are just touching the guy then the call is horse**** as the hash marks are about a yard long and the q.b. appears to just reached the hash marks

Unless Keon rode him for another 2 yards before pushing him, it's a poor call. Not much you can do though. Just move on and hope we don't get put into a position where small mistakes make huge differences. I pin most of the blame on special teams...

I think it would be less controversial if they weren't Big 10 officials. That call from neutral officials would be somewhat easier to take.

Good meeting you at the tailgate yesterday. Wish it was a better result, but promising nonetheless. Hope to see you again down the road some time at another event.

I really enjoyed the two days of hanging out with you and other board members. It's an interesting collection of humanity. The tailgate was a great party, impressive in the level of sophistication and fabled horn of plenty. It was a nice day. Your whole family seems engaged in the games which is a nice thing to see and hard to make happen. Well Done. I may try to go to the Temple game if I can make it the day after Thankgiving. I'm about 3 hours from Philadelphia and close is good.
