I have major doubts that the stadium plan pitched would do anything for long-term economic development in Syracuse and I am glad Syverud is also willing to look at all options. Last night's Upon Further Review focused on stadium talk and it was one of the best shows they've ever had. Casullo was on and he said the problem with the Dome isn't the facility, and if you have an issue with attendance, than it's the marketing. He basically said if you want to say that fans will come when the team wins, then cut the marketing budget and put it into football. He said it shouldn't be the job of the coaches to have to worry about selling tickets as well as winning games. His point is that the size of the Dome was perfect for creating an intimidating home advantage for football and hoops and that if they want to build something new and "Downtown", then build a 22k hoops/hockey arena with all the amenities.
