Free article... And can we please say..."Oh Canada"!! May 7, 2014 DL Annan is on the move EDGYTIM Lake Forest (Ill.) Academy junior defensive tackle recruit Wesley Annan (6-foot-4, 280 pounds) was one of several top performers in a stacked defensive linemen group at the RCS Chicago camp on Sunday. Get to know this latest LFA Caxy here. LFA DT Wesley Annan hails from Toronto, Canada. "I really enjoyed the Rivals Camp on Sunday," Annan said. "It was a fun camp and I had some very good coaches and learned alot from them. The competition level was solid and I felt that I did well overall." Annan, who came to Lake Forest Academy via Toronto, Canada after his freshman year recapped his latest offers and recruiting suitors. "I have offers so far from Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Bucknell, Harvard, Ball State and Toledo. Illinois, Maryland, Penn plus Northwestern, Indiana plus some of the other Ivy League schools all seem interested. Most of those schools have made in school visits this spring." Annan, who is an excellent student in the classroom ("My Mom always made sure that I had good grades first") calls Toronto home and talked about his journey that brought him to Lake Forest Academy. "I was at a football camp and I met former LFA head coach Ted Stewart. He talked to me about the opportunity to attend Lake Forest Academy and how the academics are a big focus. We also talked about how playing football in the States could help my chances at getting a scholarship in college. My first year at LFA was a big adjustment for me coming over and learning how to live away from home. This year has been completely different for me and it's been a great school year. My family supports me 100 percent in coming to LFA." Annan plans to use this summer to learn more about colleges who are recruiting him this spring. "I'm actually going to stay in the Midwest this summer and go to some camps. I want to have the summer to visit some school and camp at some others. I'm looking at camping at Northwestern, Syracuse, Illinois and maybe one or two other schools. When it comes to location for a school I'm pretty open. Since I've been living on my own at LFA I'm much more comfortable in traveling so distance really isn't much of a factor. I just want to find the best fit." Academics will also a big role in Annan's final college decision. "I'm planning on majoring in Pre-Med and I want to become a pediatrician. I was a premature baby and weighted in at four pounds and six ounces. When I was born the doctors didn't give up on me and now I'm 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds. I just feel that every kid deserves a chance. It means a lot to me to try and help other kids." Wesley Annan has scholarship offers from Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Holy Cross, Bucknell, Harvard, Ball State and Toledo.
