as to when ESPN got that tape from Davis in 2002 and when Tomaselli says he was allegedly abused in 2002. If ESPN had given the tape to the police in 2002, is it possible the Tomaselli incident could have been prevented. If that is the case then ESPN is Joe Paterno. If ESPN's defense is "journalists don't necessarily have to turn things over", how diferent is that then Paterno's defenders saying, "he did what he legally should have."

Davis didn't even contact ESPN until the middle of 2003, after both the 2002 and 2003 seasons. So, no, the Tomaselli incident could not have been prevented by ESPN.
