[COLOR=#000066]A defense begins to recognize that fingerprint and can "cheat" on reads. You get film over a few games and you know if you see, "this formation" "this is what they will do 90% of the time". If you throw a ton of bubble screens then you can have your safeties cheat up clogging intermediate  and short throws.   If you take shots down the field and throw 15/20+ yards, then you are spreading the secondary out opening shorter throws with lanes being much more open. My gf is a newly converted SU/football fan. She was wondering why everything was so short. I was discussing with her that it is an ebb and flow where you take shots long to open the run and you run to take shots long. After FSU she said, "It sure does make a huge difference when you take some shots, specially when you connect on them."[/COLOR]

Lester really focused on going laterally for most of the game and would throw in an occasional bubble or quick hitter into the flat.  Much different than GM.[/COLOR]
