Caveat: it's possible that the reason his numbers are inflated is because it's such a small sample size and therefore misleading.

But, for whatever it's worth, he is by far #1 on the roster in BPM, by far #1 in WS/40, by far #1 in TS%, and #1 in PER.

I'm not in any way suggesting he's Zach Edey, but I feel like he may be worthy of say 10-12 minutes per game.

With all his health issues perhaps he can't practice and they try to limit his minutes depending on how he feels?

I'm in complete agreement that he needs to play more, presuming he is healthy enough to do so. When he is in there, he disrupts the opposing offense, makes them alter shots, and impacts the game - even if just for 5-10 minutes.

I have to believe that he was still injured and recovering, and not just forgotten. But, who knows.

Great to see him have some success, but he's deadly slow on his feet. He watched several players drive right by him in the Duke game. Come to think of it, so did everybody on our roster that night.

Lampkin can’t cover M2M either so what’s it matter.
We’re talking 10 mins

Give Eddie a break so he can finish the game strong
I guess that's my point. He's not putting Ben Wallace to the bench. Eddie couldn't guard me.

One of the worst transfers we've brought here in the portal era.

I feel bad for the guy, but it shows how far we've fallen when people are clamoring for him to play.
I understand and acknowledge that Naheem isn’t a good player by traditional SU standards and that our talent level has dropped significantly. We can’t make mid season trades. The roster is what it is.

I’m saying that, based on objective advanced stats, he may be worthy of a consistent spot in the rotation off the bench. Particularly to give Eddie a blow who isn’t cut out for playing huge minutes.

He seems like a smart, thoughtful guy who’s lousy at basketball.

That data simply has to be small sample size. He doesn’t need to get more minutes.

If Jesse and his pops hadn’t been idiots and flaked out on the program,
McLeod would never be here.

Are you suggesting it wasn’t optimal for Eddie to play 49 minutes yesterday Including all of the second half and three overtimes without a break?

I went to the Oregon / SU game McCloud totally changed the game with blocked and altered shots, creating fast breaks and run outs. He also sets good picks, can rebound and score down low. He should start IMO and play 10 minutes a half depending on game flow.

I think it is simultaneously true that

1, McCleod is not that good, however

b, he can do a few things due to his size nobody else on this roster can, and those things add an important dimension that can help with the right amount of minutes

I have no idea why he's only recently gotten minutes.

I sincerely hope it's because he wasn't physically able to handle game time, because if it was because the staff just didn't give him time/it took them this long to figure out how to use him, well... that cost us and they need to get better at their jobs.

He played vs Cal (when we switched to zone).

I can't see him trying to cover someone m2m.

And we can't zone every single team we play against.
He played m2m yesterday.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Some of us were saying this in October.
