-Which leads to unwarranted pre season hype the next season

ACC: 4.27 Ws 3.91 Ls

In his 12 seasons at NC State he is still under .500 in the ACC at 47-51. He really is Tom O'Brien 2.0

I think the key thing that held NC State together during the Doreen era despite Doeren being a crappy HC was their DC Tony Gibson.

He was an excellent DC and he was there for a long time.

Losing him (he was recently hired as the new HC at Marshall) was a devastating blow to the Wolf Pack. Doeren is in real trouble now. He is no longer winning. He made a huge misstep hiring Anae instead of the brains of the operation (Beck).

If he doesn’t kill it with his hire of the new DC, he is done. The one thing he has going for him is that most of the ACC football programs are in disarray. As we have seen this bowl season.

He’s perfectly below average which is exactly what NC State deserves.

Imagine if Fran can change the narrative for us so we start every year ranked and with buzz like NC State and Miami do even when they suck and go 6-6 or 7-5 and lose to UVA annually.

There’s a slow changing of the guard in the ACC. Clemson will continue being good as long as Dabo is there. I think the new hires at SU, Duke and BC will raise their profiles. FSU is a mess and so are WF, CAROLINA, and NCS. Miami is poorly coached despite their recruiting being off the charts. I think Fran Brown has a chance to get SU near the top of the ACC. With their money, SMU is not going away. Pitt Isn’t smart enough to go for a win on fourth down and less than one. That says all you need to know about Pitt. Virginia and VT seem to be in a holding pattern of mediocrity. West coast teams are a question mark. I think SU is sitting in a pretty good sport.
