No one is going to argue that we have struggled and that our recent results are below "Boeheim" standards.  I think the difference is just how we define mediocre.  I think there is more parity in college basketball than ever before.  You see more upsets than ever before.  Look at the "non-Power conference" teams that have made the Final Four recently:  2021-Houston and Gonzaga, 2018-Loyola of Chicago, 2017-Gonzaga.

Plus, you see a balance of power shifted in CBB.  The best players in the northeast are going to prep schools and colleges all over the country.  And the best players don't necessarily grow up in the northeast anymore.  There are currently nine teams from southern states in the top 25 (Baylor, Duke, Auburn, Texas Tech, Tenn, Houston, Ark, Texas and Bama) and five schools from out west (Zags, Zona, USC, UCLA and St Marys).  That's a lot when you consider only three teams from the east are ranked (Prov, Nova and Yukon).  I think we can all agree that Wildhack needs to hit a homerun.
