king of all meatheads.

if this stuff is common and part of the game, it doesn't speak well of anybody.

this guy has gotten to the top of his profession and he's stupid enough to yabber like a tough guy (even though he has a vagomach and undulating national geographic knockers) about bounties and injuring people *on camera*?

if this guy is a good smart coach saying this stuff on camera, what are dumb ones saying off camera?

yeesh.

this guy had a big stupid mouth back when he got the bills job. gets everything he deserves.

Gregg Williams was the Greg Robinson of the Buffalo Bills. Absolutely horrible head coach.

Totally off subject but his son is a great linebacker and doesn't play dirty at all. So atleast he didn't pass that down to him

is wrong to say im fine with the talk, as long as no $$ exhanged hands over it???

i really have no problem with teams targeting the weak, just hate to see that its being rewarded independently of the real goal......a W.

Oh Lord

Yeah it does. I have no problem with encouraging players to hit hard, and be aggresive, but bounties on ACLs and concussions are over the line IMO.

I'm sure lawyers are scouring hours of tape from the past two seasons at New Orleans to see if they any players were injured during their games and will hit Williams with a civil suit. Not working in the NFL is the least of his worries.

I see this as the guys who are in big-time sports for the most part. I think they have no idea of things outside of football b/c that's all they are concerned with. To suggest that football at the NFL level is not basically 90% full of single-minded, meathead lunatics is naive.

And this isn't judging, by the way. I love watching them launch themselves into each other at full speed with reckless abandon and I'm jealous they are as passionate about something as they are. I just think you have to be absolutely consumed with it -- in most cases -- to be really successful. And being absolutely consumed with football doesn't always translate that well when it comes most other things.

There's no place for it. The guy is obviously sick. Intent to hurt and cause injury is despicable.

I've long believed that there is only one thing that could knock the NFL off it's pedestal as being the most popular sport in this country, and that's a rash of catastrophic injuries.

I think Goodell believes that as well.

There's no place for trying to hurt someone. It happens enough naturally.

The thing is it happens on every team I mean the only difference is it isn't the players giving the bounty it's the defensive coach. Not sure if you all remember when it came out three years ago about Ray Lewis doing it against the Steelers or not but he set a bounty on the running back at the time Mendenhall and they ended up breaking his shoulder or colar bone I believe. Just something that happens all the time and I don't think it's okay by any means however I think the players should get a punishment as well if your going to come down with a iron fist in this case.

Most of what he said is fine. But targeting ACL's and concussions does not fly.

Unrelated but somewhat related side story: I was talking with an ex-NFL (10 yr multi- SB winner) OL regarding the N. Suh incident. He said he didn't blame him because every week he watches the OL guys try to destroy his knees. Said Suh is specifically targeted without question.

This guy is a friend so I trust him when he says he saw it.
