Until watching today's matchup between Lithuania and Nigeria, I had forgotten the amazing capacity of Domantas Sabonis to sully his family name (again) by whining through every call of a game. If you missed it, go back and watch him complain about every time he throws a forearm into the back of every Nigerian player and blows them off of every available rebound.

Me, I'm going to go back tonight and watch his Zags get disemboweled by our beloved Orange. Wah, wah, wahhh. Pusallinimity, thy name is Domantas. I'll enjoy watching him get Dom-inated by Team USA, fate willing. I'd be overjoyed to watch Terry Tate, Office Linebacker, wipe that whiner out.

GO ORANGE

I was actually really impressed with that dude's game. I'd love a skilled big like that in orange.
No doubt that the kid's got game. I respect that. But it's hard to get past the whining, plus the fakery from his epic fall when that monster Tyler Lydon threw him to the ground (resulting in the knowing grin after Sabonis sold it to the refs).

Scoreboard.

Hmm -- I think this is the first time I've ever seen vitriol expressed toward Gonzaga. I kind of view them as being generally harmless, like a baby seal.

lol. I know you're j/k, but we were lucky to get by them in the tourney with our depleted/out-of-position squad last year. They were balanced with Sabonis inside and Wiltjer *&%$ hitting from everywhere but the press box. It took an amazing run to save our bacon, and they have be wondering what hit them with a 9 point lead with 4 minutes left.

I was at the game--Sabonis was impressive live.

I'm just talking about someone getting worked up over Gonzaga--never seen that before.

On that latter note--I don't think it's hypocritical to hate on Wiltjer since he started out at UK.

I was disappointed not seeing Gbinije out on the court in yesterday's game but overall it was pretty entertaining. The Sabonis - Valanciunas front court is impressive, I would not be surprised to see Lithuania medal.

My only "vitriol" was toward Sabonis, for the reasons I explained. I've got no beef with the program in general, and I like the bond that JB has forged with Few. However, Gonzaga was our opponent that day. I get "worked up" about all of them.

Sabonis had 19 points and 17 rebounds in that game. Get over it.

Best part about this post is the play on the Lord of the (Olympic) Rings...

Well done.

You know that you are really far too bright to be a Luddenite...

Today I learned that a three point loss that came down to the last possession is a "disemboweling."

He was better than Lydon, but came up short when it counted. Those 6 blocks were key in us winning the game. I'll take that every day of the week.

He killed us.

And his team lost to us and he's whiny.

I like his game and think he will help OKC. Not a hard guy to root against when he's your opponent though.

You didn't learn that from me. The comeback was the disemboweling. Gonzaga led 57-48 late in the second half. We closed on a 15-3 run.

Um, ok. Still a weird level of hate for that particular player/team.

Rough crowd around here. What?

I don't know about others, but I find it an important part of my life to tell strangers on a message board which Syracuse opponents they may dislike and which they may not dislike.

You don't have a schoolgirl crush on Sabonis? You make me sick.

Disagree. He was irritating. Even if he had sucked, his whining and flopping would've made him annoying.

"Disliking" opponents is a fun part of being a sports fan.

I mean, we have a message board dedicated to strangers discussing teenagers. So I'm not sure the line is drawn where you think it is.

Not exactly a fair match up. Not like Tyler's a true center. AS I recall, we got destroyed by a few teams with pretty crappy centers.
