yeah and lousivulle turned it around immedaitely when they got a new coach in...this era of NCAABB is annoying in many ways...but a good thing I like about the current era is how quickly things can turn around.

people who think a new coach will struggle to come in and change things bc of the state of the program - if that happens - are stuck in the past

WHERE IS OUR GUY MATTHEW GUTIERREZ? Need someone to actually pressure Autry about the extent of this injury. Reporters/journalists are supposed to ask some tough questions. He was asked about Freeman, he gave no specific injury, he gave no timeframe for return other than day-to-day. So I’ll leave it up to you guys to determine. Why are there specifics for one guy and no specifics for another?

No inside info; however, a person may allow others to discuss medical matters while another person may refuse to allow others to discuss medical matters. The injured person holds the right and has no requirement to share their medical condition with anyone.

The chancellor is already on his way out. He’s not making any decisions. The new chancellor is being hired now for next spring.

People should be watching that decision instead of JW. The new person may even be less invested in sports and take us even further down the path to irrelevance. JW is 67 and has had his run and will likely be on his way out soon.

The BoT seems invested in sports as in they talk a big game but also more invested in not sticking their neck and keeping their job.

Keeping their job? The men and women on the BOTs already have day jobs and are already wealthy individuals. David Zaslav is the (divisive) president and CEO of WarnerBros Discovery. Mike Tirico is one of the most successful broadcasters in the business. And on and on. They don’t do this for a paycheck (maybe the prestige). So I’m not sure what you’re implying.

I forget if it was last night or in Vegas. But I'm pretty sure after a big play by Cuse they showed the bench and you could see a teammate jumping on Donnie's back while celebrating.

Yup. We didn’t have enough NIL season before last because Red wasn’t prepared to fundraise for the necessary amount. Lots of people have confirmed this. He thought we were fine, and the staff didn’t do nearly enough homework to determine differently during the 2023-24 season.

I mean, while Red’s staff was flailing at NIL, the guy down the hall coaching the other revenue sport loaded up enough $$$ to sign several premiere players.

He also didn’t have a GM to evaluate prospects and understand the market forces. This all goes on while games are still being played. There were at least two prime prospects for last year’s team that agreed to terms with Syracuse then came back for more once they received other offers. Red put together a reasonable budget, that budget was funded and then found that the estimate was sorely insufficient. That situation was remedied by bringing in Kline.

I don’t know if Autry does or does not have the acumen to be a successful coach at this level, but this is the first of his three years that he has a roster capable of playing the system he wants to implement and invested in doing so. Let’s let it play out. Too many good things happening now to get lost in negativity.

If you want cast blame for someone not fully understanding the exact details and requirements of the crazy dynamics last year I won’t argue. I’m just willing to write it off as a transition cost and reserve judgement until we see how this year transpires.

By many, many accounts Autry was disinterested in fundraising and did the bare minimum. That’s on him, not JW. Fran doesn’t outsource fundraising to JW, he shakes the tree himself. Vigorously.

And yes, I do cast blame on Red for not understanding the environment. Others did. It’s his job to.

We seem to be on a better path in that regard now.

I saw him playing soccer on the quad, was doing bicycle kicks. Good to go.
