Now the NCAA has been known to grant a player a 6th year of eligibility if he was unfortunate enough to have missed TWO seasons due to serious injuries or other extenuating circumstances. They don't grant exceptions because a player wasn't good enough to play as a true frosh. I don't expect to see Simmons here in 2016.
