[QUOTE="Orangeyes, post: 111952, member: 34"] The star on punt coverage for the Lions was rookie Doug Hogue. In the first quarter, Sproles fielded a punt near the left sideline and cut hard to his right. The Saints eliminated the gunner on that side of the field and Sproles was just looking for the right running lane to cut up field. Beside the gunners, Hogue was the first Lions player up the field. He avoided the first blocker, before taking a big shoulder from fullback Korey Hall. Yet, Hogue kept his balance, and his momentum carried him right into Sproles. Hogue wrapped up the speedy returner for a mere one-yard gain. In the second quarter, it was again Hogue making the big stop. Graham out-kicked his coverage with a 48-yard punt because it only had 3.8 second of hang time. When Sproles fielded the ball at the 14-yard line, there wasn't a Lions player within 15 yards. Bobby Carpenter was the first man in on the play, coming in unblocked, but Sproles made a single cut at the 19 to get past the lunging Lions linebacker untouched. As Sproles picked up speed, Hogue was the next man up. He was able to disengage from his blocker, grab Sproles around the legs and wrap up for the takedown. The great individual effort by Hogue limited the return to 12 yards.
