Could be the best unit on the team. With Crume, Sloan, and Zion we have three Monsters in the middle for the first time i can ever remember. Each guys is over 300 pounds with Sloan being listed at 325. Add in Bromley and Goggins and this is one heck of a rotation. I would love to see Jay and the Diesel get some swings at DE this spring which would take some pressure off the newbies. Also would like to see Donnie Simmons get some run with the LB's this spring as well. Anyway should be a tough group against the run come the fall

Youth will come into play. IMO, if Lemon is 100%, WR will be the best unit. Lemon, Sales, West, Hale, Foster, Kobena, Flemming, the frosh, etc.

I'm hoping that this situation with JC transfers early in HCDM's career plays out as well or better than one from early in the P tenure. P brought in 2 JUCO's. At least one was from Hinsdale CC in Mississippi, I think Eric Downing, recruited by P&D out of Jersey. He went on to a nice NFL career with the Chiefs as a third round pick.

I want to say the other fella was Simpkins but I'm not sure. And it's driving me nuts as I am convinced there were 2 kids that P took a chance on, were non qualifiers, and he squirreled them away in the JUCO ranks. They blew up there and some heavy hitters came a-calling, but P's persistence and initial faith paid off.

Wow Bees, I hope you're right. We obviously have numbers here but I am begging-and I mean BEGGING-for one or two of these guys to show some semblance of playmaking. I'm just not feeling it right now.

I think ED went to Coffeyville CC

Both points are well taken. The playmaker issue is a good topic of discussion. We will sorely miss Provo( go get 'em, Beckett), who was about as good a TE as they come his Sr year. Lemon and/or Sales could be playmakers, but consistency is the key with both. What we're lacking is a true deep threat - a 4.3/4.4 burner. Put a deep-threat into the mix, with steady contributions from Lemon, Sales and the other WRs, this group not only is one of our deepest, it becomes our best. With an improved WR and OL group, and stepped up TE and RB units, we will be praising Nassib this season, rather than calling for his ouster.

I agree almost entirely with your post. All of what you mention makes sense. Even Boatman adds SR experience. Would love to see either Goggins or Bromley swing over to Chan's spot. If Z-Jones comes through, this may be doable, at least on a situational basis, such as pass rush. Robinson, too, will be a big part of the SSDE rotation. I think Simmons was eval'd last season as a possible LB, but didn't make the grade. Things may change this year for Donnie, but his skill-set screams rush end. We may face the same situation with Washington, who the staff very much wants at OLB. Let's hope he makes the transition his RS year.

Sales is the Key as he is a true number 1 WR and a threat. Sales may not have track speed in the 40 but he has great game speed and is deceptively fast coming out of his breaks. I have never seen him get caught from behind. Lemon is Lemon. Steady and a great Number 2. If West or anyone of the other Kids can step up this will be a very good unit.

Kobena could be a burner on the outside. Needs some more strength to get off the jam at the los. Don't know if you move lemon in the slot when we go three wide but I think Kobena could provide that stretch.

I have talked to a couple people who said Goggins will be moving outside. I don't think Simmons or Bromley will be.

You're hearing this from some people involved with the program? I hope that is true.

We need someone else with size besides Mica Robinson. Both Chandler and Marinovich were in the 250-265 lbs range the past couple years. I feel like Goggins could be pretty good there. Having him and Mica Robinson as the big DE's and Sharpe, MPB and Simmons as the speed rushers would be pretty solid. We would then have a nice rotation of DT's in Bromley, Zian Jones, Crume, Boatman and Sloan.

agreed i like this a lot teams would be hard pressed to run on us
