The NCAA tournament is 100% determined by guard play.

'12 Kentucky: Teague, Lamb, Miller
'11 Uconn: Kemba
'10 Duke: Scheyer, Nolan Smith, Seth Curry
'09 UNC: Lawson,
'08 Kansas: Chalmers, Collins
'07 Florida: Not really guard oriented with Horford, Noah, Brewer
'06 Florida: Not really guard oriented with Horford, Noah, Brewer
'05 UNC: Felton, McCants
I mean, most teams that win the tournament have good players at most spots. But 2012 UK didn't win because they had good guards. (A quibble). And Michigan had Burke and Hardaway and they lost to Lville.
Nice list. I'll add that Taurean Green on those Florida teams was a VERY solid PG. Did everything right.

Agreed, Green was a very good college PG. Humphries was the shooter correct? The role he played is what I always envisioned Cooney's role should be on a well balanced offensive team.
He was their shooter off the bench, a very good 3 point shooter. Hopefully Cooney as a 5th year senior can be a little better than that next year. Maybe a lesser Nick Staukus from Michigan.
I think Cooney could do more than shoot on a well ballanced team I just think being the primary or 2nd option offensively is too much for Cooney especially when we play guys who cannot stretch the floor with him or guys who get completely ignored by the defense.
Maybe not studs but Teague, Liggins, and Brandon Knight were pretty damn good players.
