We were without some network affiliates (ABC, CBS & Fox) for a while and barely avoided losing ESPN. The best thing about streaming, imo, is no contracts. I had to wait until my DTV contract expired to cancel without penalty. I also like that there is competition amongst streaming services. We don't have any cable options where I live, only Comcast, whose service blows. I still have to deal with them for internet, unfortunately.
