Due to a scheduling conflict, we have to arrive late to the game tomorrow. It will be approx. 12:30 when we park and walk up. Stupid question, but does my lot stay open and keep my spot? Am I going to have any issue getting into my lot with my pass?

Depends on what lot you are in tbh

The little secret to the Henry Lot...there are always about 5 spots that open up late...maybe Harrison is the same. Good luck...

The lot will still be open but with the large crowd there's not a guarantee a spot will still be available. However, the lot attendant should be able to squeeze you in somewhere. I have seen where the West lots have been filled to the point they sent people to Manley or Skytop to park. Don't think you'd have to worry about that but I can rule it out completely.

To be clear, since I have a Harrison lot Pass that I PAY FOR, shouldn't there be an open spot for me?

In theory yes but in actuality no. For a stand alone lot like Harrison the # of passes sold is much more likely to match the # of available spaces unlike the west lots where there are multiple lots, there is student parking (SU no longer makes them move) and a # of employees who park there so it can be a bit of a crap shoot.

Keep in mind for a lot of these lots SU parks employees or others with one off passes so there's usually more cars then there are actual spots. It's usually not an issue but you could be walking into the perfect storm with a large crowd and arriving late. Again I am not saying there won't be a spot or multiple spots for you at 1230, there certainly could be, but it could also be completely full.

they can't control when people dont leave the lots since they don't really empty it.
Does that mean the people from the surrounding dorms and academic bldgs using the lot? If so, how hard would it be to have one small section designated for “local use” where people could leave their cars without penalty during games. People who can’t get those spots have to move their cars 3-hrs before game time or get ticketed. Three strikes and you’re towed.

Not gonna happen unfortunately. Law school students were supposed to move their cars to Manley for football games when the dorm was built for football games and I think maybe bball as well. SU enforced it for like 2 games the first year and then just gave up. It's why the Henry/Fine Lot is more then a 30% full at 5am on gameday.

Pretty much how it happens for most campus lots around the country unless you have actual gate tracking.

Sounds great, except if that is where you normally park every other day of the year.
