[I]Syracuse freshman quarterback Eric Dungey was upbeat after the Orange's 30-27 win against Central Michigan on Saturday.

Dungey, who left the game in the second quarter [URL='http://www.syracuse.com/orangefootball/index.ssf/2015/09/eric_dungey_syracuse_football_quarterback.html']following a helmet-to-helmet hit[/URL], spoke with SU offensive coordinator Tim Lester after the game.

Lester said Dungey was asking about specific plays and reads that reserves [URL='http://stats.syracuse.com/cfb/players.asp?id=227232&team=14']Austin Wilson[/URL] and [URL='http://stats.syracuse.com/cfb/players.asp?id=251299&team=14']Zack Mahoney[/URL] made.

"He was in great spirits," Lester said.

Dungey appeared to be retaining the information and fully engaged, but Lester understands head injuries can show symptoms later in time.

Lester was unsure if Dungey had been diagnosed with a concussion.

"You never know," Lester said. "Tomorrow morning it could be a whole different world."

Shafer said Ishmael, who did not play after halftime, was pulled from the game due to a neck injury.

"He got hit in the neck," Shafer said. "We're going to find out. They thought it was the safe thing to do by not putting him back in."
