But if our guy goes headhunting - takes a couple of steps after the ball has sailed over the receiver's head - and then takes a cheap shot/helmet-to-helmet hit and knocks out the receiver (who then misses the rest of the game or more) then, yes, I'm ok with us losing Ishmael. I'd be pissed but I'd know why it happened. The replays would show the evidence.

As I suggest, over time, this will stop 90% of these types of cheap shots because coaches and players would work together to try to limit "dumb" plays and really teach guys to avoid them. (edit: and problem players would end up "no longer on the team" if they're repeat offenders?)
