11 am today - ESPN Classic is showing the 2000 game against VT
are you talking about Troy Nunes or was there some other Nunes that you're thinking of?Watching this game on dvr...even though I was there live, there's so much I don't remember except for Freeney's 4.5 sacks. My kingdom to have the dome rocking again some day like it was in this game. What a rivalry we had really developed with VT back in the old Big East.
Man, so much future NFL talent in this game...Vick, Suggs, Freeney, Will Allen, Tyree, Dee brown, Mungro...and Nunes and Mo Jackson were playing techmo bowl together in the forst half.
After the years of mediocrity at QB for us, you really appreciate in hindsight how good Nunes could be.
I'd take Nunes over any QB we've had post McNabb except for Nassib (not including Dungey who is way too small sample size). Who would you take?
Meh.RJ Anderson - even Pasqualoni finally came to his senses in 2001 & we won 10 games.
Yes, it speaks 1000x more to our QB struggles after years of great players ending with McMabb than anything else. No argument. But watching him play in some of these older games, I'm realizing I'd love to have him on many of the teams of the past decade plus.I appreciate what Nunes accomplished...but after 12 years of Donnie Mac, Philcox,Graves, Mason and McNabb...his appearance @Toledo was utterly shocking and an immediate signal that things were not well up on the Hill.
It was like we put a uniform on the "great kazoo".(yes, that might be the first Flintstones reference ever on this board).

As loud as that was, it pales in comparison to Dan Conley's interception against #1 Miami in what, '92? My ears literally hurt after that game. I remember the post standard had a sound pressure level meter and posted loudest points of the game, and that moment exceeded jet engine level of decibals. It was insanity. That place got louder than I've ever heard it every time Freeney ran down Vick, and it's not even close.
*disclaimer: I wasn't there for the Brominski game, or anything in person prior to the 1999 season, for that matter so I've got a limited sample size as a non-CNY resident

So I've heard...i listened on the radio, that was before my dad started getting season tickets. And that pales in comparison to Michael Owens' 2 point conversion against WV in 1987.
You kids.
