I hate threads like these. No identifying information in the title ("easiest non conference schedule in p5?") or the text of the original post ("This is what helps gets you in the tourney - unfortunately"), and an Instagram link that does not embed here and can't be clicked over on a mobile device. I had to use my desktop to figure out that the team is Xavier. Why do you hate your readers? Here's what you should have written...

Xavier put out their non-conference schedule (team website link) and some people are making fun of how easy it is (Instagram link).

My response is similar to those in the Instagram link: this is a pretty normal non-conference schedule. Not the toughest, but certainly not the easiest. There's a true road game against a power conference team (Iowa) and neutral games in the Charleston Classic against two of Clemson, Georgia, and West Virginia, plus the Crosstown Shootout against Cincinnati. Also, Santa Clara is a decent mid-major program under a former ACC coach, Herb Sendek, and they played in the NIT last spring. Even the exhibition opponent, Murray State, is a recognizable name. I'll admit that it's funny to see a picture of Richard Pitino with the banner headline "CUPCAKE", but I was expecting a truly weak schedule with home games only, a bunch of Division II opponents, and no power conference challenges. I get the feeling that whoever is criticizing this schedule has never seen a schedule before.
