Edsall getting testy

That's a pretty pathetic question IMO. I would have walked away too.

yeah, I am far from a defender of the weasel Edsall, but totally lame question. "your philosophy on that" is just a snarky way of asking if he is considering dumping his DC without having the cajones to ask if he is considering dumping his DC. which would also be a dumb more direct question. with that being said, screw Randy

Exactly

Eh, I always prefer an even-toned, witty, and condescending answer to questions like that.
Like when one of the reporters asked Dino in his press conference this week “Coach. Other than running the ball well, stopping the run and limiting turnovers... what are the keys to victory against a team like Clemson”

Dino dead pans halfway through he question and goes “so except all of the most important things to winning a football game, what is going to make a difference?” He ended up giving an answer something like “we have to limit mental errors, we are going to lose some physical battles but so will Clemson. We cant afford to lose mental battles too... oh and we we have to do that other stuff that you don’t think is too important”

That is my kind of reaction. I could have sworn he was channelling Saban.

Yes. That was awesome!

What did you guys want him to do. I like the fire and the take no from reporters...that's how you build a staff that will work hard for u.

Boeheim rubbing off already?

JB may be my favorite coach in the world in answering a craptastic reporter question.
I actually watched some of his pressers before I got into SU b-ball and I just loved him. “Omg what a jerk! I love him!”

I’m fine with the response. Not so much the walking away. Just say “not going there. I believe in my staff. The end”

Dumb-a$$ question. It’s a passive aggressive way to ask if their DC is on the hot seat.

What another school did is irrelevant. I don’t like Edsall but he reacted fine.I wouldn’t answer a question designed to put someone on his staff down or throw red meat for fans.

Exactly.

I have no philosophy regarding Wake Forest. You have power over your mind not outside events.

The best way to answer a question like that is with another question, smiling and politely asking ‘why’.

Doesn't seem to be a thing that requires a philosophy - what a goofy question
