With the season half over and Dino and the SU fan base a little cranky i thought this would be a good time to address Dino speak 2019.
The Elephants have lived up to and far exceeded pre-season expectations. Not only are they the weakest unit on the team they are one of the weakest offensive lines in the P5. I expect that we will have a new Elephant trainer next year.

The Rhinos on the other hand have exceeded their expectations. In of spite not having the services of the most acrobatic Rhino they have performed admirably.
The Underbelly while still soft has shown some promise most notably at LB, and DE. Hopefully the two young Canadian Elephants will continue their migration towards starting roles.
Games 4-6. Nope. Hopefully game 7.
Pittsburgh vs Syracuse Johnny Ringo vs Doc Holiday. Can the Cuses Gun slinger Tommy D get up from that hospital bed and be the Panthers huckleberry?
The Ouwies have become contagious this year with no less than 4 starters and numerous other important players being out for the majority of the season. At this point it looks as though its going to be one of those years. Lets hope that the guys heal up and come back strong to help finish the year on a positive note. One silver lining might be another season for a key Rhino.
Ohana, Family, Band of Brothers, 100 plus sons. Whatever Dad its time for a little family talk and possibly a time out for a few of the petulant children. Also how about letting little brothers Matthew, Luke, Cam, and Richards play some more and please tell Uncle Mike to stop repeating himself or we won't get to go on another trip this Christmas.

Pushing this one forward. Nothing has changed. This is a rinse wash and repeat year. Sean Lewis was the O mind.
Cav isnt the answer at OL
and there is a reason Gilbert has had 5 jobs in 7 years.

I for one am excited* to bring in a proven commodity as our next head coach.

I have to ask Sean Lewis left In 2017. Our best year was 2018. I have a hard time believing that he was some type of offensive savant. Where did he learn his offense other than Dino? I’m actually curious.
Look this team stinks and Dino gets a big for the past two years but the love for Lewis seems a bit crazy to me.

I brought it up on this very board during our 10-3 year.. our Offense was different and increasingly relied on ED to bail us out.. I believe a large part of the success on O was in fact related to Sean Lewis and some of it carried over to the 2018 team... He has done the same thing with Kent ST.. He has a great offensive mind

If dungey doesn’t get hurt those first two seasons we probably make Bowl games with the Lewis/dungey pair

There is a desperate need for easy answers. I like Lewis, but it is faith without much evidence at this point. He is 9-16 as a HC.

2-10 first years, 7-6 second year. Also as many bowls as Dino has

There records before SL went there were 2-10, 2-20 3-9 3-9 2-9 and 4-8

we haven’t seen him this season yet but it they should be at least .500 teams like them have 3 buy games against the big name teams so they almost always go 1-3 2-2 OOC

only the great Sean Lewis could leave in 2017 and get credit for the success in 2018. Guys Dino did some good things here and brought his people with him. It’s probably not going to end well but he’s not completely inept either.
This is a tough job. The next guy will most likely fail as well.

Or just maybe the instruction he was giving Dungey on how to run the offense as well as some of the details made somewhat of a difference and the more time he was away.. the more we got away from what Lewis wanted... because the one simple fact is this. The offense looked vastly different in 2018 from 2017.. with the same QB...

Quite a stretch really, he left at the end of 2017. The offense was much better in 2018. Averaged over 40 points a game I believe. Hell, why don't we just give the credit for 2018 to the OC under Shafer. he coached Dungey for a year as well? Like I said, a stretch, IMO.

Sean may be a very good coach and he seems to have Kent St moving in the right direction but he spent the majority of his coaching career working for Dino as well so it's tough to imagine a ton of different input here. Seems really odd that one could draw this as a logical conclusion. The system is Dino's, right wrong or indifferent, the good the bad and now the really UGLY.

I see your point but disagree. Lewis was a stud coach and a good game caller. Other than Lustig, Monroe, he was the one coach who you could see was special. He is a loss and so far hasn't been replaced.

There is no basis for that - think coach Mac or even P & Marrone . The right HC, with the right staff, will win consistently. I hope we have the right HC. I'm convinced we don't have all of the right staff in place.
